Lieske, Caroline (19 DEC 1870 - 5 JUL 1932)

Caroline Fredericka Marie Dorothy nee Boldt, was born in the Town of Emmet, Dodge Co., on the 19th day of December, 1870. In early infancy she was baptized in the name of the Triune God and then later instructed in the fundamental teaching of the Christian religion and confirmed in the Ev. Luth. Church. To this Church she remained faithful. She was a member of good standing in the local Trinity Lutheran Church for a period of 19 years. On the 5th day of July, 1894, she was married to Mr. Theodore Lieske, which union was blessed with 6 children, of which however, one daughter preceded the deceased to eternity. In the fall of 1912, the family moved from Dodge County to Clark County, where they purchased a farm in the Town of Loyal, where since they have resided. The deceased will be remembered by her many acquaintances as an industrious woman who worked hard to make a home a pleasant home. Last December her health began to fail. All that loving hands could do was of no avail. She, however, patiently carried her cross, resigning herself to the will of Him who doeth all things well. She was thankful for the ministrations of love extended to her by her many friends. On Thursday June, the 24th, she strengthened herself by receiving the Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper and on July 5th at noon this being her 38th wedding anniversary, she was quietly called from this world of suffering to a better world and entered as we hope the rest which is in store for the people of God. The deceased attained the age of 61 years, 6 months and 16 days. The deceased leaves to mourn, her sorrowing husband, Theodore Lieske and 3 sons and 2 daughters, viz: Edward, Herman and Arthur lieske, of the Town of Loyal; Bertha, Mrs. Frank Stange; and Edna Lieske of the Town of Loyal. Also two grandchildren and one brother, Louis Boldt of Cumberland, Virginia; besides numerous other relatives and a host of friends who have our hearts sympathy in their bereavement.

The Funeral was held Friday, July 8th, beginning at the home of the deceased at 1 P. M. from whence the procession proceeded to the Trinity Ev. Luth. Church in the Village of Loyal, the Rev. H. F. Leschensky, officiating. Burial was made in the Village of Loyal Cemetery. The following acted as Pall Bearers: Max Neitzel, Wm. Duermeyer, George Hause, Ernst Jenni, August Ehlert and Frank Lindekugel.

Flower girls were: Miss Esther Jenni and Miss Inez Jenni of Loyal and Miss Ruth Stange of Stevens Point.

Those from out of town to attend the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. John Busch and son of Columbus; Mr. and Mrs. Orville Harshbarger and son of Watertown; Mrs. Petrouska of Milwaukee; Mrs. Mary Lieske of Orient So. Dakota and Mr. Gustave A. Lieske of Orient, So. Dakota; Mr. Wm. Schmidt of Neshkora; Mrs. Karl Stange and daughter and grand daughter of Stevens Point.
