Hart, Hiram L. (1848 - Apr 1915)

Hiram L. Hart, aged 66 years, a prominent orchardist of Peshastin, died yesterday afternoon while at work on his ranch. He was in the best of health apparently and with his wife had planned to attend a Masonic dance in Leavenworth last evening. He had gone to the orchard with the hired man to do some work and made the remark that he did not feel well. The man suggested that they go to the house, but Mr. Hart fell and died within a few minutes.

Hiram L. Hart was born in Canton, N.Y., in 1848. He was married in Neillsville, Clark Co., Wis. and two children were born, Bessie and Bert.

Bessie died in childhood while the son Bert is located in Quincy, Cal., where he is head of a telephone Co. The harts came to Wenatchee in 1909 from Wisconsin and spent some time in this city, where Mr. Hart was engaged in house moving. In 1910 they located at Peshastin, where with James M. Ferguson and James M. Jack he purchased a 27 acre orchard tract. Mrs. Hart is a sister of Mrs. J.W. Ferguson.

Besides the wife and son, Mr. Hart is survived by two brothers, George Hart of Neillsville, Wis., and Edgar Hart of Washington, D.C., and one sister, Mrs. Lou Mitchell of Madison, Neb. The remains are at Wenatchee Undertaking Parlors and the funeral will be held sometime next week. Mr. Hart was a Mason and the service will be conducted by that order. The son is expected to arrive here Monday, as is also the sister, Mrs. Mitchell. Mrs. Hart is now at the home of her niece, Mrs. J.M. Jack of this city (Wenatchee, Wash., Republican)
