Palmer, Mrs. Hiram (1833 - Dec 1915)

Mrs. Hiram Palmer, aged 82, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. B.A. Scott, 80 Ferry Av. West, Wednesday evening, after an illness of short duration. Funeral services will be held at the residence Friday morning at 10 o’clock, the interment to be at Woodlawn. Besides her daughter, one son, Merton Palmer of Neillsville, Wis., survives.

Gong to Neillsville, Clark County, a bride, in 1860, Mrs. Palmer and her husband, a prominent lumberman, were important factors in the life of that community for more than 40 years.

After the death of her husband in 1897, Mrs. Palmer became a resident of Detroit, at the home of her daughter, and for eighteen years was a member of Martha Holmes Church. She continued her church and social activities until within a few days before her death. (Detroit Daily Free Press)
