Huntzicker, Margaret (1841? - 20 Augl 1924)

Mrs. Margaret Huntzicker, widow of George Huntzicker Sr., died at the home of her son, George Huntzicker Jr., in Marshfield Aug. 20, 1924, aged 83 years. Mrs. Huntzicker and her husband were pioneers of Clark County, Wis., settling on land south of Greenwood about 60 years ago, where a fine farm was developed. For many years they kept a wayside tavern for travelers, and became very popular with their patrons. Later they moved to Neillsville and bought the Merchants Hotel, which they carried on very successfully for years. On selling the hotel they moved to Marshfield about 22 years ago. For a period of 9 years they lived at Clarkston, Wash.; Mrs. Huntzicker returned three years ago to live with her son George in Marshfield.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. W.C. Brooks, Lewiston, Idaho, a son, George Huntzicker, two grandchildren, George Huntzicker Jr. of Marshfield and Mrs. Earl Lutz, Lewiston, Idaho, and two great grandchildren, children of Mr. and Mrs. Lutz.
