Seager, Charlotte (1852 - 17 Mar 1921)

Mrs. N.J. Seager, one of the old residents of this locality, died at her home northeast of Neillsville, Clark County, Wis., March 17, 1921. Deceased was born in the state of New York in 1852, her maiden name being Charlotte Hurlburt. She came with her family to Clark County, Wis. in 1871, and in 1874 was married to Nirum J. Seager. They settled on the farm that has been the family home ever since. Mr. Seager died in 1889. Mrs. Seager, with her two children, Albert and Elsie, continued to live there together until the mother’s death. She was a good mother, a kindly neighbor, faithful in her home duties and helpful to all who needed her. She will be greatly missed in the home in which her death has left a sad vacancy, and the keenest sympathy is felt for those who are left to sorrow.

Besides her children she left four sisters: Mrs. J.W. Lynch, Neillsville; Mrs. Wm. Poate, Taylor, Wis.; Mrs. J.E. Gray and Mrs. A. Gray of Colby, and brother Will Hurlburt of York. All were her to attend the funeral, also other relatives: Mr. Ray MacDonald and Mrs. Laura Mensing of Marshfield, Mr. R.J. Salter and Mrs. Richard Zillman of Colby.

The funeral was held Monday at the home, Rev. G.W. Longenecker officiating.
