Brother, Philip (1839? - Apr 1921)

Philip Brother, who returned last week from the Veteran’s Home at Waupaca, died suddenly at the home of a neighbor in the town of Levis, Clark County, Wis., Mr. Brother having gone down there to look after his farm.

Mr. Brother came up here from Grant Co. about 20 years ago and settled in Levis. Several years ago his wife died and he has rented his farm for some time, living in Neillsville and other places. He was a veteran of the Civil War, and a genial, pleasant man to meet. He was about 81 years old at the time of his death.

He leaves a son, Earl, two daughters, Miss Emma Brother and Mrs. Zella Brookings in Grant Co. and one son in the west.

The remains will be taken to Lancaster in Grant Co. for burial.
