Root, Irene A. (Marriage - 18 OCT 1921)

Mr. Clarence Canniff and Miss Irene A. Root were married at St. Joseph’s Church at Fond du Lac Oct. 18, 1921, at 7 a.m., Rev. J.J. Collins officiating. Mr. Neuman J. Root, brother of the bride, acted as best man and Miss Emily M. Root, sister of the bride, was bridesmaid. The bride was attired in a suit of navy blue velour trimmed with beads and squirrel fur, and wore a large hat to match. She wore a corsage bouquet of Ophelia roses. The bridesmaid wore a suit of navy blue tricotine with a hat to match, and a corsage bouquet of Columbia roses. A wedding dinner was served at 11:30 at the home of the bride’s parents at Fond du Lac, east city limits, for the immediate relatives. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. R. Canniff, 6th St. and is employed at Buehler Bros. Meat market. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S.S. Root. The family lived in the vicinity of Neillsville, Clark County, Wis. for sixteen years. Irene attended the Neillsville High school two years, when the family moved to Fond du Lac.

For the past three years the bride has been in the employ of the Bonita Candy Co. After a wedding trip to Milwaukee and other points, Mr. and Mrs. Canniff will reside at 177 6th st. Fond du Lac.

The Misses Ethel Nard, Agnes Dignin and Hattie Bastow assisted with the serving.
