Kissling, Mildred E. (10 OCT 1919 - 23 OCT 2002)

Mildred E. Kissling, 83, Neillsville, Clark County, Wis., died on Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2002, at the Memorial Medical Center, Neillsville. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., on Saturday, Oct. 26, at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Neillsville. Music was provided by Judy Trunkel, organist. The Rev. Timothy Biebert officiated. Burial was in the Town of Grant Cemetery. Pallbearers were Eugene Kissling, Duane Kissling, Larry Kissling, Ernest Kissling, Dennis Kuechenmeister and Gary Kuechenmeister.

Mildred Dusak was born on Oct. 10, 1919, in Chicago, to Emil and Frances (nee Sterba) Dusak. They lived in Chicago, where she began her schooling, and then later moved to Neills-ville, where she finished her schooling. She worked for 35 years as a nurse’s aide and unit secretary in the Neillsville hospital. She married Theodore Kissling on June 18, 1938, in Neillsville. They lived on a farm until 1973 when her husband retired from farming. They then built a home near the farm and lived there. In 1998, she moved to Neillsville and lived there until January 2002, when she moved into the nursing home. She was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Neillsville. Her interests included fishing, camping and trips to Canada.

Survivors include three sons, Eugene Kissling, Whitmore Lake, Mich., Duane Kissling, New Berlin, and Larry (Cheryl) Kissling, Appleton; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three sisters, Grace (Ang) Lamora, Oak Lawn, Ill., Alice Larva, Oak Lawn, Ill., and Eleanor Klauer, Fremont; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Theodore, on June 4, 1997; an infant daughter, Jeanette; and her parents. The Gesche Funeral Home, Neillsville, assisted the family with arrangements.
