Lloyd, Robert (23 MAR 1833 - 26 Augl 1919)

Robert Lloyd was born March 23, 1833 on a farm in Lake Co., Ohio, fifteen miles east of Cleveland.

He came to Black River Falls, Neillsville, Clark County, Wis., and La Crosse in 1857. He worked in sluice at the mouth of Black River and in logging camps for about two years. He then went back to Ohio and worked his father's farm four or five years. Later he bought farm near Geneva, Ohio.

In the sixties he was married to Rose Meyers. His wife died in 1894. He remained on the farm until 1914, when he sold it and spent the time with relatives in Cleveland, Estabula, Ohio and New York City. He came to Neillsville in the latter part of Jan. 1917. In the spring of 1917 he had a stroke of paralysis, which made his lower limbs almost useless. His health otherwise was good until he had another stroke which took his life Aug. 26, 1919.

The funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon at the home of his brother, George Lloyd, Rev. G. W. Longenecker officiating, and burial took place at the city cemetery.
