Mikottis, Emily T. (7 Mar 1917 - 18 Feb 2003)

Emily T. Mikottis, 85, Owen, formerly of Greenwood, Clark County, Wis. and Stanley, Wis., died on Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2003, at the Clark County Health Care Center, Owen. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., on Friday, Feb. 21, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Greenwood. The Rev. Joseph Follmar officiated. Burial was in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery.

Emily Theresa Cwik was born on March 7, 1917, in Chicago, to John and Veronica (nee Kubisztal) Cwik. She was raised and educated in Chicago, where she graduated from high school. She married Adolph J. Mikottis on Oct. 30, 1937, in Chicago. They lived in various parts of the U.S. before settling in Stanley in 1975. She moved to Greenwood following her husband’s death in 1991, and resided there until entering the Clark County Health Care Center in December 1998.

Survivors include three daughters, Kathleen Gadke, Chicago, Marilyn (Stanley) Kole, Walker, Minn., and Dianne (Tim) Barlow, Greenwood, Mo.; two sons, John J. (Barb) Mikottis, Diamond Springs, Calif., and Joseph A. (Barbara) Mikottis, Aztec, N.M.; 18 grandchildren; and three stepsisters, Irene Kuciemba, Franklin Park, Ill., Jeanette (John) Hayes, Harbor City, Calif., and Alice (Chuck) Racansky, Chicago.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Adolph; and three sisters, Helen Cwik, Lillian Cwik and Adeline Ferret.

Cuddie Funeral Home, Greenwood, assisted the family with arrangements.
