Maddux died of consumption at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W. J.
Mallory, in this village (Thorp, Clark Co., Wis.), on Wednesday,
April 1, 1903. Her maiden name was Harriet Brinker and she was born
at Greensburg, Pa., Nov. 2, 1841. She was united in marriage with
James W. Maddux at Green Camp, Ohio, Feb. 11, 1866, where they
resided until coming to this village in 1888. Of eleven children
born to them seven survive, as follows: Mrs. W. J. Mallory, Thorp;
Perry, Reason and William of Starkweather, N.D.; Mrs. Ida Merrick
of Larimour, N.D., and Luella and Lulu of this village, besides six
sisters and her husband survive her. The funeral occurred from the
M. E. Church on Saturday afternoon last, Rev. A. B. Soule
