Gorsegner, Clarence

Attorney Clarence E. Gorsenger was born near Stanley, Wis., the son of Christ and Pearl Gorsegner. He received his bachelor degree at Eau Claire State in 1933 and his law degree at the University of Wisconsin in 1938. In 1944 he did post graduate work at the University of Hawaii. He is married to the former Florence K. Brown of Stanley. Clarence was admitted to the Wisconsin Bar in 1938 and practiced law in Greenwood, Clark County, Wis. for eight years. He moved to offices in Loyal in 1946. Branch offices of the Gorsegner firm have been located in Colby and Neillsville. Mr. Gorsegner has served as attorney for the Farmer's Mutual Hail Insurance Co. of Des Moines, the O. W. Trindal Co. and the Citizen's State Bank of Loyal, and for the cities of Greenwood and Loyal. He was district attorney for Clark County from 1947 through 1954. He was a director of E-Z Camper Corp. and a former director of the Loyal School Board. He is also on the board of directors of the Black River Camper Co. of Loyal and the Eau Claire College Foundation. He is past president of the Clark County Bar Association, the Wisconsin District Attorney Association and the National Prosecutors Association. He has served as chairman of the Loyal Chapter of the American Red Cross and is a member of the Presbyterian Church, the Loyal Chamber of Commerce, the Loyal Rotary Club and the Marshfield Elks Lodge.

Mr. Gorsegner was in practice with his only son, Everett, who was killed in a snowmobile accident on March 30, 1969.

He enjoys all sports, reading and people.
