Pietrasiewicz, Mrs. John (1887? - 8 Feb 1912)

Mrs. John Pietrasiewicz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Herman of the town of Thorp, Clark County, Wis., died at her home at Gilman on Thursday last after a very brief illness. The immediate cause of her death was uncertain, owing to the suddenness. Drs. McCutcheon and Jackey were called on Friday to perform an autopsy, the result showing conclusively that pneumonia was the direct cause. The remains were brought here on Saturday and the funeral took place from St. Hedwig's Church on Monday, Father Pudlo officiating. Deceased was but twenty-four years of age and besides her husband leaves four small children, her parents, three sisters, Mrs. M. Zabacowski, Mrs. Joseph Kaminski, Mrs. Joseph Zabacowski, and four brothers, Andrew, Joe, Charles, and John Herman, to mourn her untimely death.

Could you please tell me if Alexander Pietrasiewicz was any relation to John Pietrasiewicz, the husband of Petronella Wichlacz-Herman? Purhaps a brother to John? I cannot find them in the census. I have a picture of Alexander and Stefania's headstone, but didn't see Petronella's stone in St. Hedwig's Cemetery. I walked the entire cemetery but obviously missed it. I am planning a return trip next year as there is so much information in the area for my husbands family. Thank you for your time. Linds

Linda, I am not related to the family. I am a volunteer for the Clark County Historical Internet Library. One of the things we do is go through the old Clark County Newspapers on micro-film from the Wis. State Historical Society and transcribe the obits and marriage notices for this website. I'm not sure if you are familiar with the website, but the URL is http://wvls.lib.wi.us/ClarkCounty/ .

Good luck on you search! Stan Schwarze
