Courier (Thorp, Clark County, Wis.) 06/27/1912 Heagle, Edward (29
SEP 1884 - 21 JUN 1912) Edward Heagle, son
of John Heagle of this village (Thorp, Clark County, Wis.) employed
in the Gilman Manufacturing Company's heading plant at Gilman, met
with a shocking accident on Thursday afternoon last. While members
of the crew were lacing a belt, Mr. Heagle was on a ladder keeping
the belt clear from the revolving shaft overhead, and his sleeves
caught in some manner, winding both arms around the shaft and
separating both arms from the body, which fell to the floor
beneath. He was taken to the hospital at Eau Claire the same
evening, but died there about ten o'clock Friday morning. The body
was brought here on Saturday and the funeral took place on Sunday
afternoon from the M. E. Church, Rev. Kneen officiating, interment
taking place in the Thorp Village Cemetery. Mr. Heagle was born at
Seymour, Wis., on Sept. 29, 1884, and came here with his parents
when an infant and spent nearly his whole life here. The stricken
family has the sincere sympathy of all. The deceased was married
several years ago but a separation took place about a year
since. © Every submission is protected by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act
