Mr. Foster said the Star Theater will be closed to install the latest type of sound-on-film equipment.

40 YEARS AGO (April 20, 1961)

Elaine Samuelson, Barbara Weissenberg and Rosemary Tryboski won superior ratings and gold medals at the state speech contest in Madison. Marlene Meyer and John Friank received excellent ratings.

Tom Moore was named one of the 50 finalists in the current events competition.

25 YEARS AGO (April 15, 1976)

Cynthia Michalak, Mrs. Ruth Eslingers daughter, was named the winner of the Stanley & Boyd Lion’s Club Scholarship contest.
