Raymond Juzwiak

Raymond J. Juzwiak, age 74, of Thorp, died on Saturday, October 20, 2001 at J&J Adult Family Home in Gilman.

Funeral services were held 10:30 a.m. at St. Bernard’s-St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church, Thorp. Father John Puerner officiated and burial followed in New St. Hedwig’s Cemetery. Visitation was held at Thorp Funeral Home on Monday, October 22, 2001 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. with a 7:30 p.m. Rosary service.

Raymond John Juzwiak was born on June 16, 1927, in Thorp, the son of the late Walter Sr., and Florence (Piwoni) Juzwiak. He was raised on the family farm. He moved into Thorp with his parents in 1967, after they sold the farm to Raymond’s brother Wally. He continued to help his brother on the farm until Wally sold it in 1990. Raymond then lived with Wally until entering the Ashley House Group Home, in Greenwood, in 1997. In 1999 Raymond moved to J&J Adult Family Home in Gilman and resided there until the time of his death. He was a member of St. Bernards-St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church, Thorp.

He is survived by one sister, Helen Panek of Schraumburg, IL; two brothers: Frank (Delores) Juzwiak of Arlington Heights, IL, Walter Jr. (Marlene) Juzwiak of Thorp; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters: Violet Stier, Lottie Wotjkiewicz and Mary Ann in infancy; and two brothers: Malen and Edmund.
