Anton Peters

Anton C. Peters, age 91, of 11 Scheidler Road, Chippewa Falls, formerly of Thorp and Stanley, died Monday, October 22, 2001, at the Comforts of Home Nursing Facility.

Anton was born November 7, 1909 in Pulaski to Mary (Wasielewski) and John Banaszynski. He grew up in Pulaski and attended schools there. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II from 1942-1945.

He married Philomene Boehm on June 15, 1946, in Thorp, where they farmed. After his retirement in 1968, they moved to Stanley and resided there until December 2000. Anton had been a resident of Comforts of Home since January 1, 2001.

Survivors include his wife, Philomene; one daughter, Arlen (Don) Horton of Milwaukee’ two sons: Roger (Diane) Peters of Chippewa Falls, Donald (Catherine) Peters of Enfield, Conn.; one sister, Dorothy (Tony) Homel of Pulaski; one brother, Ervin Banasyznski of Pulaski; 13 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Judith Lund; four sisters and six brothers.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 25, 2001, at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls with Father Edmund Doerre of Holy Ghost Catholic Church officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery, Chippewa Falls, where the Chippewa Patriotic Council will perform military rites.

Friends May call one hour prior to the service Thursday at the funeral chapel.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please contribute to your favorite charity in Anton’s name.
