Albert Phillips

Albert E. Phillips, 94, formerly of Thorp and Black River Falls, WI, passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2003 in a Waukesha, WI nursing home, just one day short of his 95th birthday.

Albert was born on February 16, 1908, in White City, Iowa. As a young man he traveled to Wisconsin and met and married Doris Rudkin of Black River Falls. Albert was employed by the Blue Moon Dairy in Thorp. After raising his two sons, Duane and Gerald (Jake), he and Doris retired to Black River Falls in 1974. In 1998, the couple relocated to Mesa, Arizona. In 1999, Doris passed away in a Mesa nursing home. In 2001, Albert returned to Wisconsin and resided in a Waukesha nursing home until his death.

Albert was preceded in death by his wife, Doris and his son, Duane. Survivors include his son Jake (Patricia), his sister, Mary of Colby, WI, grandsons: Jason (Jeanine), Steven (Alice), Kenneth and their families which include four great grandchildren: Stephanie, Brian, Mackenzie and Megan Phillips. He is further survived by his sister-in-law and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and many friends.

A memorial service for both Albert and Doris will be held at the Shamrock Cemetery outside of Black River Falls in early July of 2003.
