Carolfi, Richard A. (19 Jan 1969 - 2 May 2003)

Richard A. Carolfi Jr., 34, Loyal, died on Friday, May 2, 2003, in the town of Loyal, as a result of an all-terrain vehicle accident. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, May 7, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Pittsville. The Rev. Tom Hahn officiated. Music was provided by Mary Cournoyer, soloist, and Joye Kuhlka, organist. Burial was in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery, town of Hansen, Wood County. Graveside military rites were conducted by Palmer-Ritchie-Thomas American Legion Post 153, Pittsville. Pallbearers were Darrell Bender, Dave Bender Jr., Randy Ratsch, David Ratsch, Dan Morrill, Terry Frost and Craig Kimball.

Richard Carolfi Jr. was born on Jan. 19, 1969, in Marshfield, to Richard and Beverly (nee Graveen) Carolfi. He attended Pittsville schools and graduated from Pittsville High School in 1988. He enlisted in the National Guard in his junior year of high school and served from 1987-94 as a specialist in the Service Battery, 1/120th Field Artillery, 32nd Infantry Brigade. He married Melody Schneider on April 30, 1994, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Pittsville. They later divorced. He was employed at Wick Building Systems, Marshfield, from 1988 until the time of his death. He was a member of Local 2958 Carpenters and Joiners Union and a past member of Whitetails Unlimited. His interests included spending time with his children, hunting, fishing, camping, snowmobiling and 4-wheeling.

Survivors include two children, Magen Schneider, Loyal, and Tanner Carolfi, Loyal; his father, Richard Sr. (Lola) Carolfi, Stratford; his mother, Beverly (David) Bender, Arpin; his paternal grandmother, Cora Carolfi, Stratford; his maternal grandmother, Esther Graveen, Stratford; seven sisters, Lee Ann (Dan) Morrill, Oshkosh, Donna (Franz) Maurer, Greenville, Holly (Chad) Fox, Marshfield, Debra (Korey) Schillinger, Stratford, Debra (David) Ruhbusch, Spencer, Patti (Lance) Casperson, Stratford, and Angela Carolfi, Marshfield; four brothers, David Bender Jr., Granton, Darrell (Kim) Bender, Hewitt, David (Karen) Ratsch, Lindsey, and Randy (Gina) Ratsch, Marshfield; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Preceding him in death were his paternal grandfather, Albert Carolfi; and his maternal grandfather, Norman Graveen Sr.

Buchanan Funeral Home, Pittsville, assisted the family with arrangements.

I think that would be a really nice memorial to him. It is so hard to loose those we love. One of the purposes of this site is to help us all remember those who have gone before us. Never Forgotten...

Everyone wonders why god takes away the ones that they love, hearts get broken and theres no way to heal them without them there. There is no way to mend a broken heart the only thing you can do is Remember.
