Wehling, John F. (12 Augl 1854 - 22 Jan 1912)

Died, at his home in the town of Loyal, Clark County, Wis., Monday, Jan. 22, 1912, John F. Wehling at the age of forty-seven years.

All the care and love that skilled physicians and an anxious household could devise and apply for his comfort and assistance were brought into play, but after a struggle of eighteen months he finally died with cancer of the stomach after having one operation performed some time ago.

The deceased was born in Gohm, Mecklenburg, Germany, On Aug. 12, 1854, and was married to Miss Wilhelmina Daehn in Germany before coming here in 1881, when they settled in Dodge Co. One years later they came to Clark County, Wis., and settled on the farm where he died.

His life was gentle, but like the still waters it was deep. In his heart of hearts he carried those he loved, and his hand was never weary, his step never failed in ministering unto, caring for, waiting upon those who were in any way dependent upon him.

Besides a devoted wife he leaves five children, Mrs. Frank Luchterhand, Charles, Robert, Frank and a younger child.

Funeral services were held today at eleven o'clock at the house and half past twelve at the Lutheran Church, Rev. Kemena officiating, and the remains buried in the cemetery here.
