Breit, Mrs. Moniko (May 1841 - 22 Jan 1915)

Mrs. Moniko Briet died at her home in the village of Butternut, Wis. Friday morning Jan. 22, 1915, at 10 o'clock at the age of 74 years and nine months.

Deceased is the Mother of Mrs. Louis Wenzel of our village (Loyal, Clark County, Wis.) and some time ago made her home here with the Wenzel family. She is well known and respected here by many. She was born in Germany in May 1841. In 1881 she came to America with her husband and made her home in Appleton. Later the family moved to Marshfield, where she lived until the death of her husband in 1909, since which time she has been making her home with her children.

She is the mother of nine children, three daughters and six sons, all of who survive her as follows: Mrs. Schalpaper of Milwaukee, Mrs. Louis Wenzel of Loyal, Mrs. Otet of Merrill, Andrew, Joseph and Frank Breit of Butternut, Nick of Milwaukee, Robert of Lehr, N.D., and John is a soldier in the Philippine Islands. All the children but Mrs. Otet, who is ill and John who could not get here in time, were present at her bedside when she died.

The funeral was held from the Catholic Church at Butternut, Monday morning at 10 o'clock. The bereaved relatives have the sympathy of their many friends.
