Sloniker, Ray (1898 - 13 Dec 1915)

Last Sunday afternoon Ray, the seventeen-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Sloniker of the town of Loyal, Clark County, Wis., had the misfortune to shoot himself while hunting. As near as could be learned, Ray was crawling through a fence, and when through, pulled the gun after him, having hold of the muzzle, the hammer most likely caught a twig, discharging the gun, the charge entering into his stomach. The dog, which was with him, at once ran home barking until Ray's father followed him to the scene of the accident. Ray was taken home, where medical aid was summoned at once and the next morning he was taken to Marshfield Hospital, where he died that same afternoon.

Ray was a young man of good character and a great favorite among his associates. He leaves to mourn his loss his parents and several brothers and sisters. The family has the sympathy of the entire community.
