Johnson, Esther (17 March 1913 – 19 December 1980)

Mrs. Robert (Esther) Johnson, Milwaukee, was buried in Dell’s Dam Cemetery, Town of Levis, on Tuesday afternoon, December 23, after services from the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville. The Rev. Lawrence Berger officiated at the Tuesday services.

Mrs. Johnson, 67, passed away on Friday evening, December 19, in St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield. The deceased was born on March 17, 1913, in Milwaukee to Frank and Mark (Forneleski) Sowinski. After receiving her education in Milwaukee schools, she worked at various jobs in that city. On June 21, 1946, she married Robert E. Johnson in Milwaukee ceremonies. Ten years ago at retirement, the couple moved to the Town of Lincoln in Wood County (rural Marshfield). Her death came after a short illness.

Surviving her, besides her husband, are three sons, Casimir “Casey” Grams of Marshfield, Dennis Johnson of Bancroft and Melton Johnson of Stevens Point; two daughters, Mrs. Paul (Elaine) Conkle of Lisbon, Ohio, and Mrs. Walter (Beverly) Fuller of Plover, 17 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She also is survived by one sister, Mrs. Michael (Grace) Noatle, Milwaukee. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, one sister and one great-grandson.
