McCready, Grace (? – 8 January 1981)

Grace McCready, 92, Menomonie, died Thursday, January 8, at American Lutheran Home in Menomonie.

The former Grace Dunn was born in McGregor, Iowa. She married Byron Bobb in 1906 and later married Thomas McCready on September 19, 1929, in Stillwater, Minnesota. They lived in several communities in the area, including Humbird, while her husband was a telegrapher for the Chicago and North Western Railroad.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Mrs. Art (Marjorie) Laffe, Humbird; two sons, Harry “Marion” Bobb of Eau Claire and Donald Bobb of Washington, D.C.; twelve grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

Services were held Monday morning at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Menomonie with burial in Evergreen Cemetery at Menomonie. The Stanton Funeral Home, Menomonie, was in charge of the arrangements.
