Kraus, Gabriella (Marriage - 19 JUN 1917)

Miss Gabriella Kraus, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M. J. Kraus, was married to Henry C. Engholdt of Fond du Lac, in St. John's Catholic Church at 9:30 o'clock by Father Jeuck Tuesday morning. The decorations in the church were of flowers and ferns. The bride wore a gown of rare beauty and carried a showere bouquet of white sweet peas and lilies of the valley.

Larelda Kraus, sister of the bride, served as the maid of honor. The bridesmaids were Leonora Arps of Chilton, a cousin of the bride, and Maryrose Mertie. George Gavin of Fond du Lac was best man. Clemence and Arthur Flecksenstein were the ushers.

A reception was tendered in honor of the newlyweds at the bride's home, the rooms of which were attractively decorated.

The bride is one of Marshfield's handsomest young ladies, and is very popular, as was attested by the numerous pre-nuptial parties in her honor. Her choice for a husband holds a lucrative position with a Fond du Lac leather company. They will be at home in Fond du Lac after August 1st. (Marshfield News)

The bride, who at one time lived in this city (Colby, Wis.) with her parents, has numerous friends and acquaintances here who will join with this paper in extending the young couple heartiest congratulations.

Thank you so much for posting this! How unexpected! It is my maternal grandparent's wedding announcement. It was a joy to read and helped me nearly visualize it. The kind remarks of this story gladdened my heart. It also helped me fill in some gaps of my family history.

Thanks again,  Nicholas J. Bertschy Peoria, IL
