Firnstahl, Raymond M. (4 May 1894 - 17 OCT 1918)

Raymond Michael Firnstahl, brief mention of whose death was announced in the Phonograph last week, was born in the town of Hull, Marathon, Co., Wis., May 4, 1894, having therefore reached the age of 24 years, 5 months and 21 days up to the time of his death, Oct. 17, 1918.

At the age of 19 years he took up the learning of the cheese makers business with Albert Bruss and later at Unity, later going to the University at Madison, where he took a course in dairying from which he graduated in 1915. After finishing his studies at the University he went to Chilton, working in the condensery up to the time of his being called into the army.

On May 28, 1918 he left for Camp Grant, being transferred to Camp Mills, N.Y., from which camp he left after a few days for England, landing there Aug. 7th.

Raymond left with Company G., 338th infantry, 3rd division.
