On Saturday, September 10, 1977 at 1:00 p.m., Karla Bacon of Oronoco, Minnesota, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Bacon, Owen, became the bride of Daniel Schottler of Oronoco, Minnesota, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Schottler of Austin, Minnesota. The wedding ceremony was held at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Withee, with the Rev. Douglas Groenewold officiating.

The bride wore a floor length de-lustered satin gown with chiffon bishop sleeves and two side panels of Belgium lace, with a picture hat covered with Belgium lace and floating tulle streamers. She carried a fall bouquet of yellow and bronze mums with Stephanotis.

The bridesmaids, dress in princess style knit gown with matching balloon sleeve jackets of pint voile, with two gowns of grass green and the other two cream colored, were Kathryn Petke of Johnson Creek, Wisconsin, Beth Hamm of owen, Susan Felten, Pine Island, Minnesota, and matron of honor, Karolyn Demulling of New Richmond, Wisconsin. They carried sing yellow large chrysanthemums with satin streamers.

The groom was dressed in a vested suit of chocolate brown color. His best man was his brother, Paul Schottler of Somerset, Wisconsin. He also wore a vested suit of chocolate brown color.

The other groom attendants were bob Krueger of Brownsdale, Minnesota, Gary Demulling of New Richmond, Wisconsin and Jim Motchenbacher of Bloomington, Minnesota. The ushers were Mike Olson, River Falls, and Curt Potach, Minneapolis.

The organist for the ceremony was Sonia Groenewold, and the soloist was Curt Rohland.

Following the wedding ceremony the couple and guests had dinner served at St. John’s, and then a reception later at the Bacon home in Owen.

The bride is a graduate of Owen-Withee High School, and UW-River Falls. She has been working in the publishing department for IBM at Rochester, Minnesota. The groom is a graduate of Pacelli High School in Austin, Minnesota and Austin Community College. He also works for IBM in Rochester.

The couple, now on a honeymoon in the Bahamas, will make their home in Oronoco, Minnesota.
