Mrs. Katherine Wicker Yerkes was born at Clay Corners, N.Y., in 1833. In July 1857 she was married to Oliver Yerkes in Washington Co., Wis., and came with her husband to Colby, Wis. They settled on a farm south of the city and lived there until 1903, when they moved to town. In 1916 her husband, who was a member of the local I. O. O. F. passed away and shortly after that she went to Waupaca and lived at the State Veterans home up to the time of her death.

She was an active member of the Rebeccahs and was well liked by all who knew her.

Surviving her are one adopted daughter and a brother, Truman Wicker of Schleisingerville, Wis.

Funeral services were held from the M. E. Church last Friday, the I. O. O. F. being in charge.
