Schauss, Edna (Marriage - 9 OCT 1920)

Last Saturday, Oct. 9, 1920, at Zion Lutheran Church in this city (Colby, Wis.), occurred the marriage of Miss Edna Schauss and Mr. William Walhart, Rev. C. C. Hartenstein officiating.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her brother, Henry Schauss, was gowned in a beautiful white dress of georgette crepe and her white silk veil bordered with spangles and beads was worn in cascade drape effect. She carried a bouquet of pink bridal roses and ferns.

Miss Anna Wiedenhoeft acted as maid of honor and the Misses Mayme Beaver and Aurelia Janke as bridesmaids. They all wore dresses of honey bird blue silk crepe de chine and carried a basket of carnations and ferns. Mr. Ernest Walhart and Herbert Nixdorf attended the groom.

After the ceremony at the church the relatives of the bridal party, with a few close friends, returned to the home of the bride’s mother, where they were given a reception. The home was beautifully decorated for the occasion, the dining room being trimmed in salmon and white and the parlor in blue and white. The evening was spent in dancing at the Wiedenhoeft park and at mid-night a light lunch was served.

The bride is the youngest daughter of Mrs. F. Schauss of this city and after coming here several years ago was employed as milliner at the B. Georgas millinery store. She then accepted a position as clerk at the A. F. Zillmer & Co. Store, where she worked until resigning to accept a like position for G. Franz & Son, which she held until two weeks before her marriage.

The groom is a prosperous young farmer who owns a farm 1 ½ miles south of Stetsonville, where the young couple will make their home.

Relatives from Wausau, Merrill, Appleton, Rib Lake, Stetsonville, Dorchester and Abbotsford attended the wedding, and the friends from out of town who attended were: Mrs. F. M. Kirchmayer, Prentice; Mrs. C. Neuman, and Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Kuehl and son, Dorchester; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Leonhard and daughter and Miss Ruth Ingersoll, Abbotsford and Mrs. A. C. Georgas and daughter of Spencer.

The best wishes of their many friends go with the newlyweds on their adventure through life.
