(12 JUN 1855 - 15 Apr 1925) One of the
lamented deaths of the last week was that of Mrs. Augusta Krueger,
which occurred at her home in Green Grove, Clark County, Wis. on
Wednesday, April 15, 1925. Relatives and
friends were deeply grived to hear of her passing, she having been
in fairly good health until about a week previous to her death. On
April 14th she suffered a heart stroke which resulted in her death.
However, we are never prepared for death and the family and friends
were unprepared for Mrs. Krueger's passing. Augusta Krueger,
nee Winkel, was born at Howard's Grove, Sheboygan, Co., Wis., June
12, 1855, and there grew to womanhood. In 1873 she was joined in
holy matrimony with Mr. Carl Krueger at Howard's Grove, Wis., where
they remained until the following year, when they moved to Unity,
Wis., where they lived three years. They then moved to Green Grove,
where she has since resided. Tot his union
fifteen children were born, ten boys and five girls. Four children
preceded her in death. The Krueger family
lived in Green Grove for fifty-two years, and were kind and
obliging neighbors and good friends. Mr. Krueger preceded her in
death some six years ago. Since then she has made her home with her
youngest son, Henry. She was a devoted
wife and mother, and the many beautiful floral offerings gave
testimony of the affection and esteem in which she was held by the
family and friends. Eleven children
mourn her sudden departure, namely: Mrs. Lena Zeiger of Milwaukee,
Mrs. Louise Cole of Waukesha, Mrs. Minnie Baumgartner of Waukesha,
Albert Krueger of Waukesha, Otto Krueger, Colby, Carl Krueger, Jr.,
Wm. Krueger, Hug Krueger, Fred Krueger, Henry Krueger and Mrs.
Gusta Kobs, all of Green Grove, and thirty-one grandchildren. She
also leaves four brothers and five sisters. The funeral was
held on Saturday afternoon at 1:00 from the home and at 2:00 at the
Lutheran Church at Green Grove, Rev. Goetsch officiating. The
remains were laid to rest in the family lot in the Green Grove
Cemetery. Those from out of town who attended the funeral were:
Herman Winkel, Meeme, Fred Winkel, Schleswig, Gustave Winkel,
Howard's Grove, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Perronne, Howard's Grove, Mrs.
Mary Klueger, Sheboygan, Mr. and Mrs. Zeiger and sons, Edwin and
Henry, Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Cole, Mr. and Mrs. Albert
Krueger, and Mrs. Ernest Baumgartner, all of Waukesha. © Every submission is protected by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act
