William (Gold Anniv- 12 Feb 1928) Mr. and Mrs.
William Will, Sr., were very pleasantly surprised by their many
friends on Sunday evening, Feb. 12, 1928, the occasion being the
fiftieth anniversary of their marriage. The big event was held in
the Colby, Wis. Opera House and it was filled to capacity with
friends and relatives. Mayor Lyons spoke a few words of
congratulations, after which Hudson's Blue Moon orchestra played
some splendid dance music. The bride and groom of fifty years
stepped to the strains of the music, after which all joined in and
spent a most enjoyable evening. Anna Silbernagel
was born at Herman (now Ada), Sheboygan Co., Wis., on June 17,
1855, and Wm. Will was born in the same town on Feb. 6, 1858. They
were married at St. Joseph's Church at Herman Feb. 12, 1878, and on
Feb. 19 moved to his farm in the town of Colby, Clark County, Wis.
They moved back to Sheboygan Co. in April 1893, on the Silbernagel
farm, where they resided for five years. Then they moved back to
Colby and conducted the Colby House for three years, moving back to
their farm in July 1901. They celebrated their silver wedding
anniversary Feb. 12, 1903. They moved to Colby from the farm in
Dec. 1920. Mr. and Mrs. Will
