(Marriage - 24 Jul 1929) A very pretty
wedding was solemnized at the Green Grove Lutheran Parsonage, Rev.
M. C. Goetsch officiating, last Wednesday, July 24, 1929, when Miss
Esther Erdmann, daughter of Mrs. Maria Erdmann, became the bride of
Mr. Arthur Fakes, son of Mrs. Ervin Koerner, formerly Mrs. Selma
Fakes. Miss Ida Fakes acted as bridesmaid and the groom was
attended by Charles Lapp. The bride was
attired in a beautiful dress of peach colored flat crepe and
carried a bouquet of carnations and sweet pears. The bridesmaid
wore a dress of cerise flat crepe.. After the marriage
ceremony, a reception was given at the home of the bride, the home
being nicely decorated in peach and white, flowers and ferns for
the occasion. In the evening, a free wedding dance was given at the
Oakwood pavilion which was largely attended by relatives and
friends. Both the bride and
groom are well known and popular young people, as they both lived
in this vicinity since they were little children. They were school
pals and both were confirmed in the same class by Rev. M. C.
Goetsch. They will make their home on the groom's farm in the town
of Green Grove, Clark County, Wis. About a week
before their marriage, a house shower was given in their honor at
the home of the bride's sister, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Johnson. They
were delighted with the many beautiful and expensive gifts that
they received. © Every submission is protected by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act
