Suda, Janel Marie (04 November 1983)

Miss Janel Marie Suda, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Suda, Greenwood, and James Michael Kirn, son of Mr. and Mrs. Roger Kirn, Willard, were married November 4 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Greenwood with the Rev. James Lescynski officiating. Sharon Schoonover, Diane Anderegg and Judy Zettler sang for the ceremony and Dave Gluch was organist.

The bride was given in marriage by her parents, She was attended by Miss Judy Klinke of Greenwood as maid of honor and by Miss Sandy Hribar of Willard and Miss Diane Speich and Miss Judy Mayenschein, both of Greenwood, as bridesmaids.

Ludwig Hribar of Spring, Texas, was best man. Eliah Suda of Greenwood, Bruce Kirn of Willard and Rich Smith of Greenwood were groomsmen, and ushering were Dennis Suda, Granton, and Dennis Kirn, Willard.

Wedding day events were a reception, dinner and dance at the Loyal American Legion Hall. The new Mrs. Kirn is a 1983 graduate of Greenwood High School and attends District 1 Technical Institue-Eau Claire. Her husband is a 1982 graduate of Greenwood High School and works for Smith Feeds.

The newlyweds live in Loyal.

Wittek, Pamela Marie (08 October 1983)


Miss Pamela Marie Wittek of St. Louis Park, Minnesota, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Wittek, Owen, became the bride of Gary Lee Ackerman, St. Louis Park, Minnesota, son of Mr. and Mrs. Orlando Ackerman, Owen on October 8. The Rev. Richard L. Fliss officiated at the double ring ceremony at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Owen.

The bride was given in marriage by her parents. Mrs. Sandra Kaczmarek of Jackson was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Dianne Rosiejka of Lublin, Colleen Fitzl of Owen and Peggy Albert, Eau Claire.\


The bridegroom was attended by Kevin Ackerman of Owen as best man. Groomsmen were David Rosiejka of Lublin, Kenneth Fitzl of Owen and Mark Kacmarczyk, Stanley.


A supper, reception and dance were at the Quonset Hall, Thorp. The newlyweds are living at St. Louis Park, Minnesota.


The bride, a 1979 graduate of Owen-Withee High School and a 1980 graduate of District 1 Technical Institute-Eau Claire, is an out-patient representative at Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park, Minnesota. Her husband, a 1973 graduate of Owen-Withee High School and a 1981 graduate of the same technical institute, is a precision inspector for ADC Magnetic Controls.

Sarah Feldman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Feldman, Owen, has been named recipient, of the Good Citizen Award at Owen-Withee High School. The award is presented annually by the Eau Claire Chapter of the daughters of the American Revolution.

Sarah has been active in various fields during her high school years, also participating in sports.

SPENCER - Jerry Kobs and Dale Anderson were named Jaycees of the month at the recent meeting of the Spencer Jaycees.

They were chosen for the work they did with the country-western show.

The survey to poll residents about a village swimming pool was postponed until spring.

Steve Meyer was sent to the individual development workshops at the University of Wisconsin campus in Fond du Lac. He was among some 900 persons attending. Topics discussed included marriage, stress and finances.

Jim Schiferl, chairman of the Abbotsford Sign Committee, chaired a meeting about placement and arrangement of the new city signs which will be installed.

Ten participants of the Abbotsford Nutrition Center were honored recently for their November birthdays.

Honored, and the dates of their birthdays were Hillie Busse, 16; Leona Carter, 12; Martha Cypher, 25; Walter Kohnhorst, 8; Dorothy Kangas, 24; Bernice Lynch, 25; Frances Priemeau, 12, Margaret Rose,1; and Thomas Schilling, 21.

Game prizes went to Alva Ven Rooy, Beatrice Gebert, Marie Horacek, Josephine Novak, Walter Kohnhorst, Ben Marcott, Mary Pabisch, Hillie Busse, Judy Savage and George Hanson.

The Aid Association for Lutherans recently elected Sam Zier as president. Other elected were Elmer Wellman, vice president, and Audrey Juedes as secretary-treasurer.

SPENCER - Summer computer programs were discussed recently by the Spencer school Board.

School superintendent James DiUlio reported that Spencer will join with the Colby and Own-Withee school districts in a program featuring computer workshops in agriculture, data processing and accounting, food services and child care. The program uses funds from the Department of Public Instruction.

Spencer will have five students participating in each area.

Larry Fitzmaurice was named as delegate to the Wisconsin Associations of School Boards convention January 17-19 in Milwaukee.

COLBY - Jerome Salzman of Romy's Northside Inn was welcomed as an honorary member of the Colby Chamber of Commerce.

Bills approved were $25 to Marge's Flowers for the arrangement sent for Jim's Country Lounge grand opening and to Paul Firnstahl for the Minneapolis industry trip.

Russ Dahl was appointed to replace Jim Zenner on the Nominating Committee. Evelyn Kobs was named chairman of the Farm Wife of the Year Committee.

Ray Anderson was elected as president recently of Zion Lutheran Church. Other elected were Albert Podevels Jr., vice president; Lois Anderson, secretary; Alvin Krueger, treasurer; Colleen Haas, recording secretary, Betty Steinwagner, financial secretary; Tim Jacobson, trustee and Carol Oehmichen, board of education.

Elders elected were Ralph Bloome, Zone 1; Ray Rachu, Zone 2; William Frome, Zone 7, all for three-year terms; Robert Butler, Zone 3, for one year, and Scott Schilling, Zone 5, for a two-year term. Nineteen voters were present.

SPENCER - Dorothy Vanderhoof was elected recently as president of the Spencer Senior Citizens.

Committees named were Pauline Krohn, Isabelle Oelke and Eleanor Hlavach, entertainment; and George Luepke and Ernie Frank, auditing.
