Ann Babich

Ann E. Babich, 93, Merrill, died Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2003, at Pine Crest Nursing Home, Merrill. There will be no visitation. Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 13, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Loyal. The Rev. Roman Kaiser will officiate.

Ann E. Parkel was born March 10, 1910, in Frontenac, Kansas, to Frank and Theresa (nee Gorenc) Parkel. She married Nick Babich in Milwaukee. She and her husband owned and operated Nick's Bar, Chili. Her interests included gardening, baking, sewing, and baseball games.

Survivors include two daughters, Donna (Wayne) Jackson, Loyal, and Barb (Bob) OKray, Merrill; one grandson, James Dahlke, Loyal; and three sisters, Helen Wene, Greenfield, Millie Miller, Milwaukee, and Donna Singer, Milwaukee.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband on May 22, 1978; two sisters, Theresa Podobnik and Mayme Zupanc; and one brother, Frank Parkel.

Waid Funeral Home, Merrill, is assisting the family with arrangements.
