Wittenberg - Fierke Wedding on Tuesday--Rev. George Fierke and Miss Lena Wittenberg United

The wedding of Miss Lena Wittenberg to Rev. George Fierke took place at the German Lutheran church at one o'clock last Tuesday, Rev. H. Maack of the German Lutheran church on the East side of Grand Rapids officiating, Rev. Wm. Giesselmann of Sigel and Rev. Ed Wachholtz of Lyndon being also in attendance, the church being filled with members of the congregation and others.

The bride was attended by the Misses Elna Fierke of Dorchester, Anna Wittenberg and Theresa Johns, the groomsmen being Messrs. Carl Vehrs, Carl Kraske and Otto Raufmann.

The bride is the daughter of Gustav Wittenberg, a farmer in the town of Port Edwards. She is well known and very popular in this community.

The groom has been pastor of the German Lutheran church here for over a year and has gained a large circle of friends among all classes here. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Fierke, reside at Dorchester, both of them being present at the wedding. Following the ceremony the wedding party repaired to the Wittenberg home where the wedding feast was served.

Mr and Mrs. Fierke start out with the best wishes of the people here and we extend hearty congratulations. They will reside in the new parsonage next to the church.
