Ciolkosz, Rose July 12, 1901 - September 30, 2002

Rose Ciolkosz, 101, 206 West Prospect St., Thorp, Oakbrook Manor, passed away at Oakbrook Manor, Thorp, WI, Monday, September 30, 2002 at 10:45 a.m.

Rose Pietrzak was born July 12, 1901 in the Town of Withee, attending school there. On June 22, 1921 she was united in marriage at St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church, Thorp to Frank Ciolkosz. She and her husband lived in Chicago after their marriage then moved to Connecticut for 5 years. They then moved back to the Stanley area where they farmed until 1948, then, moved to the Withee area and farmed until retiring in 1960, moving to the Stanley area. In 1986 they moved to Sunset Homes. After Frank passed away she remained living at Sunset Homes until 1994 when she became a resident of Oakbrook Manor in Thorp, WI. Besides her love of family, she enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening and especially her flowers.

She is survived by one son, Phillip (Sandra) of Manitowoc, WI; five daughters: Irene Haas of Thorp, WI, Sylvia (Louis) Przybylski of Nekoosa, WI, Phyllis (Sylvester) Skaleski of Holcombe, WI and Judy (Bill) Foster of Chippewa Falls, WI. Also surviving are 34 grandchildren, 56 great grandchildren, 11 great great grandchildren and 1 great great great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Frank, 3 brothers, Joseph, Albert and Frank and 4 sisters: Mary, Frances, Martha and Theresa, 1 grandson, Allen Haas and 1 great granddaughter Amber Cunmingham.

Funeral services will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church, Stanley on Thursday, October 3, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Robert Nelson officiating. Burial will be in Holy Family Catholic Cemetery, Stanley.
