PETER LAFLEX RITES

Thorp--Funeral services for Peter LaFlex, 84, who died at the Clark County Hospital, Owen, Sunday evening of organic heart disease, were held Tuesday afternoon at the Bogumill Funeral Home here.

The Rev. James Irish officiated at the services and burial was made in the East Thorp cemetery.

Mr. LaFlex was born March 23, 1858 in Canada, where he lived as a boy and received his education. He was married to Colista Dolf at Colby in 1876 and came to Thorp in 1877 as one of the first settlers. He homesteaded a 40-acre farm in the Town of Resburg and had lived there for the past 60 years.

Survivors include the following children: Alex, Thiensville; Louis, Ladysmith; Leander, Waupace; Frank, Greenwood; Harry, Solon Springs; Jessie, Thorp; Eanie, Minneapolis; and Mrs. Henry (Josie) Poppie.

Also surviving are 53 grandchildren and 55 great-grandchildren. His wife preceded him in death aon Feb. 4, 1941.

Pallbearers included Herman Buss, William Hickman, William Roesler, William Biddle, John Barth, and Elmer Meyer.
