Clarence William Oberman passed away at the Marshfield hospital on the last day May at the age of 14 years, eight months and 15 day. Clarence was born September 16, 1925, at Little Falls, Minnesota, the only son of Mr. & Mrs. Clarence Oberman, Sr. When he was a baby, he was brought to Wisconsin and lived for one year near Waupaca. He then came to Clark County with his mother and grandparents, spending most of the balance of his short life in and around York Center. He had been ill for about a month. Never very sturdy, Clarence spent many weeks at hospitals at various times, remaining cheerful and uncomplaining through it all. He was bright and active in this school work and in his home, doing everything he undertook willingly and well. He became a member of the Methodist Church at Lindsay and attended the services regularly when his health permitted. He had enter his fourth year of 4-H club work and this year he was elected secretary of his club and president of the 4-H Hot Lunch and Calf Clubs. He was captain of the school safety patrol and the Press correspondent for the Oriole Hill School. He leaves to mourn his death, his mother, Mrs. Milford Williams, his step-father, two half brothers, Orin and Chester, and a half sister, Dawn, a step sister, Ardene Williams, Stevens Point, and a step brother, Earl, at home. He is survived also by his grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Orin Lawrence of Levis and two aunts, Mrs. Walter Jacobi of York and Mrs. Louis Finder of Levis. Funeral services were held at York Center Methodist Church at 2 p.m. Tuesday, with burial taking place at the York Center Cemetery, Rev. George Austin of Lindsay officiating. Pallbearers were Norbert Lavey, Ervin Kroll, Franklin Gault, Wilmer Kroll, Walter Korth and Tony Krenz. The singers were: Rev. and Mrs. Jewell, James Young, Mrs. Walker, Mrs. Belle Mortimer and Ethel Walker with Mrs. Walter Rowe as organist. Their numbers included: "Jesus Savior, Pilot Me," "There's a Wilderness," and "I am Thine, Oh Lord."
