Mrs. William Vandeberg died suddenly on Saturday, April 17, shortly after the birth of a child who died before the mother. This death is a peculiarly sad one, as it leaves several small children motherless. Mrs. Vandeberg, whose maiden name was Jessie Brown, was born at Hancock, Waushara County, February 2, 1884. She lived there until she was 17 years old when she came to Clark County. On July 16, 1902, she was married to William Vandeberg and they have made their home in this vicinity ever since. She was a kind hearted woman who did the best she could for those about her and will be sadly missed in the home. She leaves husband and seven children: Almond at Prescott, Minnie, Chris, Edward, Orson, William and Pearl, at home. Pearl the youngest is four years old. She leaves also her mother, at Hancock, two brothers and four sisters. One sister, Mrs. Gordon Davis of the Town of Fremont came at once to assist in the home after Mrs. Vandeberg's death. Two of Mr. Vandeberg's brothers, Garret and Herman of Baldwin came to attend the funeral which was held Tuesday afternoon at York Center, Rev. S. J. Lambright, officiating.
