Jensen, Marius (2 FEB 1873 - 26 OCT 1946)

Final rites were conducted for Marius Jensen, 73, Withee, Clark County, Wis., from the Danish Lutheran Church at Withee, at 2 o'clock, Friday, Nov. 1, Rev. L. C. Bundgaard and J. L. J. Dixen officiated at the rites, and burial was made in the parish cemetery.

Mr. Jensen lost his life when struck by an automobile driven by Frank Pabich, Jr., who resides four and one-half miles south of Owen, while walking on Highway 73, at 10:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, 1946.

A resident of the Village of Withee for the past 43 years, he had gained prominence in the community and a host of friends.

He was born on Feb. 2, 1873, in Denmark. As a young man of 29 years of age, he was united in marriage to Jorgine Nielsen Briks on Oct. 28, 1902, in Denmark. One year later after their marriage, they moved to America, settling in the Village of Withee, where they made their home for 11 years, before moving onto their farm just south of the Village limits in 1914, where he had since resided.

On Oct. 28, two days after his untimely death, he and Mrs. Jensen would have observed their 44th wedding anniversary.

Surviving him are his wife, two sisters and one brother living in Denmark, and five sons, Froede, Solvang, California; Harald, Dagmar, Montana; Kristian, Buellton, Cal.; Theodor, Owen, and Karl of Withee.

Pallbearers at the service were: Viggo Rasmussen, Fred Johnson, Stephen Quist, Marinus Jensen, Alfred Frost and Andrew Olson.
