Harris, Susan (1871 - 8 Mar 1906)

Mrs. John Harris, who died Thursday, March 8, 1906, after an illness of several weeks, was buried Monday morning from St. Joseph's Catholic Church at Fairview, and the remains were interred in the family lot in the cemetery at the church. The funeral was one of the largest ever held from the Catholic Church, which showed well the esteem in which the deceased was held by her many friends. A large delegation from the Woodmen camp and the Royal Neighbors attended.

Mrs. Harris, who maiden name was Susan Lauer, was born in Waukesha Co., Wis. in 1871, and came to this vicinity with her parents the same year. On Nov. 17, 1890 she was united in marriage with John Harris. She leaves a husband and a family of eight children, three girls and five boys, the youngest a baby of nine weeks, to mourn the loss of a wife's solicitude and a mother's loving care. Besides the immediate family she leaves a mother, three sisters and one brother. The bereaved ones have the sympathy of the entire community in this time of affliction.
