Lange, Henry W. (22 May 1868 - 6 NOV 1907)

The remains of Henry W. Lange arrived here (Humbird, Clark County, Wis.) last Monday noon and the funeral services were held at the M. E. Church at 2:00 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Frank O. Hesse, and the interment was in the Houghtonburg Cemetery. Many friends of the family gathered to pay the last tribute of respect to the memory of the deceased.

Henry William Lange was 39 years, 5 months and 15 days of age, was born in Germany May 22, 1868, and came with his parents to Wisconsin when two years old. At the age of twenty-one he went to La Crosse and was employed as street car conductor for several years and later followed the same occupation in St. Paul. From there he went west and entered the employ of the Great Northern Railroad Co., and has been a brakeman for seven years. While in the performance of his duties at Grand Forks, British Columbia, at about 7:30 Tuesday evening, Nov. 5th, met with the accident which caused his death. Mr. Lange was a member of the Brotherhood of Railway Brakemen and the order delegated one of their number, Mr. Ed Walter of Spokane, Wash., to accompany the remains to this village and represent the Brotherhood at the funeral services.

Mr. Lange was always well spoken of by his fellow workers and was a capable railroad employee.

He leaves to mourn his death an aged father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Lange of this village; four brothers, Will of Glen Ullin, N.D., Fred of La Crosse, Louis of Humbird, John of Altoona; and two sisters, Mrs. Sophia Halderson of La Crosse, and Mrs. Mary Billerbeck of Altoona, all of whom, excepting his brother Will, were present at the funeral.
