Schmid, Josephine (Marriage - 20 Augl 1908)

A pretty wedding occurred at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Fairview, at 8:00 Thursday morning, when Rev. L. Wernerus, pastor of the church, pronounced the words that united Mr. George E. Stanley and Miss Josephine Schmid in the holy bonds of matrimony. They were attended by Mr. Nick Boullion and Miss Bott of Merrill, a cousin of the bride.

Mr. and Mrs. Stanley drove immediately to Fairchild, where a wedding breakfast was served at the home of relatives of the bride, and then took the noon train for a wedding trip to St. Paul, where they will spend a couple of days and then go to Seattle and other points on the coast.

The above contracting parties are two of Humbird, Clark County, Wis.'s most popular and accomplished young people, and are well known to all in this vicinity. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Schmid, who has grown to young womanhood in our midst. She has been engaged in teaching for a few years past.

Mr. Stanley is one of Humbird's exemplary young men. He has been in the employ of the Omaha Railroad Co. for a number of years, running on the northern division as freight brakeman, and a couple of years ago was promoted to the position of conductor. His headquarters are at Altoona, where himself and bride expect to begin housekeeping this fall.

Mr. and Mrs. Stanley are the recipients of the heartiest congratulations and best wishes of their host of friends in this village and vicinity.
