Obit: Johnson, Nancy (1850 - 1936)

Mrs. Nancy Johnson, one of the oldest residents of the Town of York, died at her home at Romadka, Sunday, July 19. Nancy Ann Stark was born at Schultzville, Pennsylvania, October 26, 1850, and grew to womanhood there. July 19, 1868, she was married at Schultzville to Oney Johnson. In March 1879 they came to Clark County and bought land in the Town of York. Here they developed a farm. Mr. Johnson died there 25 years ago, and two years later Mrs. Johnson moved to a cottage near the home of her daughter, Mrs. Eva Canfield, north of Romadka, where she spent the remainder of her life. She is survived by this daughter and a son Justin Johnson who lives at Neenah. She leaves also six grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held this Wednesday afternoon at 1 o’clock at the home of Mrs. Eva Canfield, Rev. G. W. Longenecker officiating. Six of the great grandsons officiating as pallbearers.
