Dorothy A. Quast

Dorothy Quast, age 87, died Sunday, Dec. 28, at her home in Neillsville.

Dorothy Agnes Quast was born Jan. 21, 1916 on the family farm in the Township of Levis, near Neillsville. She was the daughter of Adolph and Christine (Dobes) Meier. After her schooling, she spent time looking after her brothers and sisters and helping out on the family farm. Dorothy was united in marriage to Frederick Quast on April 24, 1935. They raised their family and farmed in the Globe area until retiring in 1972. Dorothy was a lifelong member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. She was baptized, confirmed, and married there. She was also a member of the St. John's Ladies Aid. Dorothy enjoyed being a member of the TOPS club. Her real love was fishing and spending time with her grandchildren. Dorothy will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her son Richard (Kathleen) Quast of Neillsville; a daughter-in-law, Elaine Quast of Sparta; five grandchildren, JaNel (Mark) Heiman of Neillsville, LaNae (Randy) Sebesta of Neillsville, Tim (Tracey) Quast of Mosinee, DeOna (Rob) Wilson Pierz, Minn. and Steve (Dawn) Quast of Sparta; and 13 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother, Clarence (Marie) Meier and one sister, Helen (Harold) Beyer, both of Neillsville.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Frederick; a son Robert Quast; six brothers and one sister.

Funeral services for Dorothy were held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 31, at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Neillsville. Pastor Timothy Biebert officiated. Music was provided by Judy Trunkel, organist.

Pallbearers for Dorothy were Harold 'Bud" Beyer, Chuck Glassbrenner, Jeff Meier, Jim Meier, Wayne Meier, and Don Miehak.

The Gesche Funeral Home of Neillsville is assisting Dorothy's family with arrangements.
