Leonard Abrahamson, Sr.

Leonard E. Abrahamson, Sr., age 83, of Blair, died on Monday, Dec. 29, 2003, in the Grand View Care Center in Blair.

Leoanard was born on July 26, 1920, in fairchild, to Roy and Dorothy (Matysik) Abrahamson. He married Alice Schutte on July 28, 1939 in Decorah, Iowa. Alice preceded Leonard in death on March 11, 1982.

Leonard graduated from the Fairchild High School in 1938. He served in the United States Army 28th Infantry during World War II.

Leonard was the head of welding in iron construction for the Milwaukee County Parks Division. After his retirement, Leonard moved to Gilman in 1975, and to Blair in 1998.

Leonard is survived by a son, Leonard E. (Kristy) Abrahamson, Jr. of Blair; a grandson Brian (Leanne) Abrahamson of Lamont, Ill.; three step- grandchildren, Christina (Dean) Rayburn of Onalaska, Joseph Olson of Ettrick, and Jennifer Olson of Blair; a great-granddaughter, Alyssa Abrahamson of lamont, Ill.; three brothers, Charles (Sandy) and Lyle (Arlene) Abrahamson, both of fairchild, and Bernard Abrahamson of River Falls; two sisters, Carol (Lemoine) Anson of Neillsville, and Susan (Kenny) Janke of Union Grove; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, Leonard was preceded in death by three brothers, Edwin, Gerald, and Alvin Abrahamson.
