Mrs. Bob Tichy and children of Stratford spent Thursday afternoon with Mrs. Ann Piotrowski.

Mrs. Charles Marvin entertained Sunday in honor of their daughter, Christine, who was confirmed that day at Calvary Lutheran Church. Guests were Christine’s paternal grandmother, Mrs. Velma Marvin, Mr. and Mrs. Vernard Dallman and family, Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Boldt and Mr. and Mrs. Merle Bailey, all of the Marshfield area, Miss Kathy Marvin and a friend, both students at the District One Technical Institute at Eau Claire, and Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Faul.

Weekend guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Marks were her sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Nelson of Princeton, Mn.

Mr. and Mrs. Albert Keller of Ft. Lauderdale, F., were unable to attend funeral services held her Tuesday for his brother, William, because of Albert Keller’s poor health.

Guests Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Appleyard in honor of the confirmation of their daughter, Mary that day at Calvary Lutheran Church, were Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Rucks and family of Waukesha, Mr. and Mrs. Myron Toll and Jill and Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Ewald and family of Berlin, Mr. and Mrs. Leland Appleyard and family of Sparta and Mary’s grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Appleyard. Mary’s baptismal sponsors were the Tolls and Leland Appleyard.

Richard Hagedorn was honored Monday evening on the occasion of his 85th birthday with a family dinner at Bali Hai super club. Present, in addition to Mr. Hagedorn, were his daughters and their families, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Hoffmann, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Shaw, Lori and John, and Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Howard.

Mrs. Borofski and her daughter from Minneapolis, Mn, visited with Ann Piotrowski Satruday afternoon.

Mr and Mrs. Earl Smith entertained Sunday in honor of their daughter, Charlotte, who was confirmed that morning at Calvary Lutheran Church. Guests included both grandmothers, Mrs. Mary Ann Buker of Greenwood and Mrs. Carl Smith of Neillsville, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Liebzeit and family of Greenwood, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Smith and family of Medford, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Smith, Jr., and family of Vesper, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Smith and family of Wisconsin Rapids; Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Smith and family of Fond du Lac and Jack Buker of Marshfield and Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Knoop and family. Charlotte’s baptismal sponsors were Mrs. Liebzeit and Marvin Smith.

Visitors Sunday at the home of Mrs. Harry Anderson were her former neighbors, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Czarnik of Gepp, Ark., and Mr and Mrs. Martin Kalina of Merrillan and Mr and Mrs Mitchell Whiterabbit of Hudson. Mrs. Anderson’s son, Wilbur, and Mrs. Joann Hulsether and son, Johnny, of Westby visited later in the day.

Hattie Forman was a supper guests Sunday and also spent the evening with Mabel Schoenfeld.

Guests Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harley Miller in honor of their daughter, Karen, who was confirmed that day at the Calvary Lutheran Church, were Karen’s grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Harris Anderson and family of Black River Falls and Mr. and Mrs. Otto Miller of Neillsville, her baptismal sponsor, Mr. and Mrs. William Opelt and their family, and Mr. and Mrs. Chris Vandeberg and Mr. and Mrs. Ken Arneson and family.

Bishop and Mrs. Guy Cole of Nekoosa spent Sunday at the home of Mrs. Anna Hudec.

Sunday visitors at the Martin Feuerstein home were Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Frank and family of Oshkosh.

Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Lindau entertained Sunday in honor of their son, Brian, who was confirmed that morning at Calvary Lutheran Church. Guests included Brian’s maternal grandmother, Mrs. Hugh Seefeldt of Prentice, and his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Lindau of the Marshfield Convalescent Home, and Mr. and Mrs. Neil Neeb and family of Hastings, Mn., Mrs. Nadine Blanchard and daughter, Terri, and Herb Weiland of Prentice, and Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Neuendorf and Sue. Rick Lindau, a student at the University of
Wisconsin-Eau Claire was also home for his brother’s confirmation. Brian’s sponsors, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Lindau of Waterford were unable to be present for the occasion.

Mr. and Mrs. John Swenson attended the wedding of his niece, Miss Cynthia Jacobson, and William Westphal Saturday in Eau Claire.

Mr. and Mrs. Milton Schoenfeldt of the Town of York entertained Sunday with a dinner in honor of Mr. Schoenfeldts birthday. Guests were the Schoenfeldts’ daughter and son-in- law, Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Grassman of Eau Claire, his mother, Mrs. Mabel Schoenfeldt, and her mother, Mrs. Viola Free. The Grassmans, who arrived Saturday, also visited with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Grassman of rural Granton, during the weekend.

Mr. and Mrs, Fred Grap, Jr. and family visited with Mrs. Anna Piotrowski Sunday and had dinner with her.

Sunday guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Olson in honor of the confirmation earlier that day at Calvary Lutheran Church of their daughter, Ellen, were Mr. and Mrs. Paul Swenby of New Richmond, Miss Mary Lou Olson, intern teaching at Richfield, and Miss Marilyn Galstad, Mrs. Ellen Johnson and the Rev. and Mrs. Daniel Litzer and family and Mrs. Litzer’s mother, Mrs. Harold Totsch of Wausau. Ellen’s baptismal sponsors were Mrs. Swenby and Mrs. Johnson.
