House, Cynthia Jo (13 NOV 1958 - 23 AUG 2005)

Cynthia Jo "Cindy" House, 46, Schaumburg, Ill., formally of Unity, died on Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2005, at Alexian Brothers Medical Center, Elk Grove Village, Ill., after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. A Mass celebrating her life was held at Queen of the Rosary Catholic Church. Strat Barrettsmith, pancreatic cancer survivor and leader of the local pancreatic cancer support group, presented a heartfelt eulogy. Pallbearers were brothers-in-law, Mike, John, Charlie Tom, Rick and close family friend, Jim Schleiter. She was laid to eternal ret at Our Lady of the Angels Garden Mausoleum at St. Michael’s the Archangel Cemetery, Palatine, Ill.

Cynthia Jo Weis was born on Nov. 13, 1958, in Marshfield, to Donald and Marjorie Weis. She was a 1976 graduate of Colby, Wis. High School, where she was active on the swim team. She was a member of 4-H in the town of Brighton for 12 years. She moved to Wausau after graduation where she met Sammy Wayne House Jr., Gresham. They were married on March 11, 1978, and moved to Illinois in 1980. She became active in Girl Scouts as a troop leader and was an avid supporter of youth sports as a volleyball, soccer and baseball mom. She had a passion for cooking and entertaining. Her profession wasn’t only a full time mom to her three children, but also as a second mom to many as their childcare provider. She was deeply dedicated and devoted to her family and faith and touched many lives throughout her 27 years of providing child care.

She was the extraordinary wife of Sam; cherished daughter of Marjorie Weis, Spencer and the late Donald Weis; loving sister of Bonnie (Mike) Jelinek, Bev (John) Bohte, Diane (Tom) Beyerl, and Rick (April) Weis, all of Wausau, Linda (Charlie) Smith, Colby, and Jeff (Carol) Weis, Mosinee; Fond daughter-in-law of Sam and Shirley House, Shawano; sister-in-law of Bev (Rick) Neumeier of Gresham; amazing aunt of 18 nieces and nephews; great aunt of six; and dear friend of many.

Preceding her in death were her father, Donald Weis; and three infant brothers, Donald, Mark and William.
