Marks, Mary Frieda (25 Sept. 1913* - Sept. 27, 2005)

Mary Marks, age 92, of Neillsville died Tuesday Sept. 27, 2005 in the Palliative Care Unit at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield.

Mary Frieda Marks was born in Princeton, MN, the daughter of George and Clara Uran. She attended school in Princeton, MN. She was united in marriage to Albert "Dutch" Marks on Nov. 14, 1935 at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church Parsonage in Neillsville, Wis. They lived and raised their family in Neillsville, Wis. Mary was a life long member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. They celebrated their 50th and 60th anniversaries with family members. Mary enjoyed collecting vases.

Surviving is her son Richard, of Neillsville; brother Clayton (Maxine) Uran of Waco, TX; and sister-in-law Ruth Uran. Preceding her in death was her husband Albert; a son Marvin on July 6, 1952; four sisters, Esther, Helen, Una and Beulah; and two brothers, Glen and Samuel.

A private service for family members only was held at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Neillsville, Sept. 30. Pastor Timothy Biebert officiated. Providing music was Sharon Nemitz, organist. Interment was in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

Serving as casket bearers were John Krohn, Bruce, Maynard and Norman Tremelling, David and Pat Willard.
