Lloyd, Edwin C. (20 Feb. 1861 - 3 Feb. 1951)

 

Edwin C. Lloyd, age 89, died at his home on South Grand Ave. on Sat. Feb. 3, 1951, at 7:15 p.m. after an illness of one week. Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday at one o’clock at the Georgas Funeral Home with the Rev. Virgil Nulton officiating. Interment was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

 

Mr. Lloyd was born in Wales, United Kingdom, on February 20, 1861, to Edwin and Mary (Boundford) Lloyd. He came to this country with his parents at the age of 5 months, landing in New York. They located in Albany, Wis., where he received his education and grew to manhood.

 

At the age of 35 he came to Clark County and located on a farm in the town of Pine Valley. He and his wife retired from farming twenty-five years ago and moved to the city, where he lived the remainder of his life.

 

On Dec. 5, 1894, he was married to Hattie Wells at Neillsville, Wis. Eleven children were born to this union. He is survived by his wife and by these children: Mrs. Edward (Eunice) Hansen, of Racine, Mrs. Vera Shumway of Neillsville, Byno Lloyd of Neillsville, Ray Lloyd of Loyal, Guy, Thomas, and Calvert of Racine, Mrs. Paul (Elva) Flint of Richfield, Wis.; and 22 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

 

One son, Louis, died in England in World War I. Two daughters Mae and Mildred, five brothers and four sisters are deceased.
